Privacy policy
*Draft for legal review. Last updated 4 October 2026.*
RigBuild ("we", "us") is a free, read-only service. It has no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. This policy explains the little it handles.
What RigBuild receives
When your assistant (for example ChatGPT or Claude) calls a RigBuild tool, it sends the arguments for that call: a parts list, part names and specifications, or a search phrase. RigBuild doesn't ask for and doesn't need your name, contact details, payment details or any other personal data. Please don't include any.
The connection also carries technical data any web request does, such as an IP address.
What it does with it
- Tool arguments are used only to compute the answer, in memory, and are then discarded. They are not stored or logged.
- IP addresses are held in memory for up to 60 seconds to limit how many requests one address can make. They are not logged or stored by RigBuild.
- Operational logs record, for each call: the tool name, whether it succeeded, how long it took, a random reference number and the time. They contain no arguments and no IP addresses. They are kept for up to 30 days to find and fix faults.
The hosting provider (Google Cloud, in the European Union) processes requests on our behalf and may keep its own request logs, including IP addresses, under its terms, for up to 30 days.
What it doesn't do
RigBuild makes no requests to other websites, doesn't share or sell data, doesn't build profiles, and doesn't use your data to train anything.
Your assistant's own policy
Your conversation is handled by the assistant you use (OpenAI for ChatGPT, Anthropic for Claude) under its own privacy policy. RigBuild sees only the tool calls it receives.
Legal basis and your rights
Processing the technical data is in our legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure service. You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting the support contact (to be added). In practice RigBuild holds nothing that identifies you. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
