RigBuild
RigBuild checks whether a desktop PC parts list works together, from the parts' published specifications. It runs fixed rules, so the same parts always get the same answer, and it shows its reasons.
What it checks
- CPU and motherboard: socket, chipset and BIOS support.
- Memory: generation, slots, capacity and speed.
- Fit: motherboard and power supply form factors, graphics card length, thickness and height, cooler height, radiator mounts and power supply length.
- Storage: M.2 slots and the SATA ports or bandwidth they share.
- Power: estimated load, the power supply's wattage and its CPU and graphics card connectors.
Every rule answers PASS, WARN, FAIL or UNVERIFIED with a reason. A spec the manufacturer doesn't publish is UNVERIFIED, never guessed.
What it doesn't do
It has no prices, doesn't recommend products or shops, and sells nothing. It covers desktop PC parts only: not laptops, prebuilt PCs, troubleshooting or overclocking.
Where the specs come from
The catalogue holds only records whose manufacturer's website terms don't restrict republishing, each with its source link and the date it was read. For any other part, the assistant reads the manufacturer's page and passes the specs in; those results are labelled "on supplied specs, unverified". Always confirm with the manufacturer before buying.
